Last month I replaced the impeller on the lower unit on my 87 70 hp mercury engine. The boat ran fine before the replacement. Now there is smoke coming out of the propeller and the engine runs rough and very sluggish when i throttle up.. Did I not connect something right? Could I have fried the oil pump. What are my options?
