Hello, i own a Wellcraft nova spyder 202 with a new 350Mag Mpi (2009) with smartcraft gauges.
The last 10days the trim gauge does not read correct. I put a new trim sensor on my Alpha one drive when i repowered my boat 1,5years before. The trim limit works fine. But the trim reading is not accurate. I have tried to calibrate the gauge with the known procedure but nothing better.
When i press the down button, the gauge goes up for a little and then full down, even if i press the down button for a click. Then the gauge slowly goes down till the correct position. The problem is that it takes about 2-3 minute for the gauge to show the correct position. The problem is bigger when the boat is stoped or if it has 30-35mph. When i run at WOT, (about 60mph) it reads accurate and in real time. As soon as i slow down, the reading is not accurate again . I have to tell you that i unscrew the trim sensor from the drive to check the aligment marks inside of it the meantime the boat was in to the sea, and then i put it in position again. Is there a case that as i made this procedure into the water , the sensor became faulty? What can i check before change the sensor?.....This is something i want to avoid as then i must change the bellows also..
Thank you very much.
