I have a 14.5FT double eagle with a 60hp johnson and a 4hp kicker on a bracket mounted to the transom. I am not moving the bracket or the transducer or pickup for the speedo, so for me to install smart tabs they would have to be mounted about 14inchs in on the transom on each side due to the small width of my boat I am not sure they will help me to much due to how I have to mount them against the recomendations any thoughts if they will be worth it for me?

They have to be at least 10 inches from center and if you can not move anything it does not look like you will have enough room...

Re: Smart Tabs Q with pics.

When I am alone in the boat bowrise is bad but very short I can deal with it, when I have 3 other people on board or trying to tow a tuber with 2 in the boat bowrise is very long and draged out having people move forward helps but is kind of silly due to the size of my boat. I also have a terrible porpoising at higher speeds 30+mph, so bad that it feels like I am going to break my boat when it really gets going. I have lowered my trim in to the 2nd closest hole to the transom so that the top speed I can hit right now is about 32mph and get better hole shot, but I figured with smart tabs I could put the trim to the middle hole or 2nd to last outer hole increase my top speed to 35+mph and still keep a decent hole shot with less bowrise. Having a lower speed on plane as well as a decrease in fuel consumption are always nice things as well. I will take measurments tomorrow going from the center of the transom outwards, I am pretty sure I have 10 inches to play with or it will be very close, depends on the size of the trim tabs. If I get them I will get the smart tabs SX version as I prefer them to the stainless. For the stainless it lists the size as 9"x8" but doesn't list the size for the SX, I assume they are the same size. Is it 9" long and 8" wide?
Thanks again for all your help.
