I have a 14ft Gregor welded aluminum boat with a 20hp mariner. It has a side console at the back of the boat, so I sit in the same position as if it was a tiller. The fuel tank(25L) sits in the middle of the boat, and the other seat is in the middle of the boat as well. My usual set up is me driving and one passenger sitting in the middle. The boat tends to ride fairly deep in the water at the stern, and if I take the boat over a few continous large waves usually wakes of big boats around harbours and what not the water comes very close to coming right over the stern at the sides of the boat at the very back. The motor is a 15inch shaft, but the sides rise up to about 22 inches at the back. It is a fairly deep boat for a 14 ft aluminum, and has a mild V to the hull. Iam wondering if the smart tabs would help lift the stern out of the water a bit more when going into big wakes from large boats? whenever a large boat goes by (20+ FT) I usually take steps to aim the bow towards the wake and give it a touch of throttle. I have considered moving the side console up to the middle bench seat so most of the weight would be to the middle of the boat, but it would be an awful lot of work, money and downtime for a boat I might only have for one or two more seasons. If the smart tabs would help my situation which ones would be the right fit the lenght of the boat and power of the motor do not match up to any of there recomendations, thanks for any help in advance.
