I'm getting an '09 Bayliner 175 f&s and wishing it had more fuel capacity. I added an 11-gallon tank to my '95 Aquatron and would like to do something similar with my '09 BL when I get it. Any ideas?

Remember that more fuel equals more weight, lower performance and increased fuel burn. The smaller the boat, the bigger the impact. 20 gallons of fuel is the equivalent of carrying another passenger.

In addition to looking at what tanks are available here and, considering the weight, take a good look around your boat to determine where (if) that is feasible.

carry a jerry can when you need it; leave it home when you don't.

Run the boat a while before installing anything to see if you need it. "If it ain't broke, fix it until it is."

Thanks; good points and all true; my concerns, however, are not with weight or performance as much as the convenience the extra range, and, to a lesser degree, the cheaper cost of highway gas. My Aquatron got 6.1 mpg staying "just up" on plane - mostly but not always, and the two boats are of equal eight and drive train. I can't speak to hull or wind resistance differences.
