Small crack / hole on lower engine ?

Hi , I have found a small chip / crack on the bottom of my motor right near the bottom near the propellor on the right side of the block ?? I think water could be getting in it ! is this a really bad problem ? looks like its been there for a while / years !<br /><br />hope you understand what im saying !<br /><br />Thanks

Have you seen any water intrusion Danny? This would be mixed in with the gear lube. <br /><br />A pressure test on the gear case would tell you if the crack is a problem or not. I would suspect from your description that it's only going back a little ways and is not letting water in. But do the press test just make sure and for piece of mind.....
