Small, cheap, aluminum boats get on Craigs List and are sold on a daily basis. At least that's the way it is here in Minnesota. If you want one, you need to check the list several times a day and call when you see an interesting one, then go see it. They just don't linger on the list unless they're junk.

You are far from the only person looking for a small cheap boat, I promise.

In that line, the best deals are for boats with a trailer and no outboard. Craigs List also has tons of small outboards in most markets. You needn't buy them together.

You'll find what you're looking for within a week if you're persistent and check the list frequently.

I got mine for $300, with trailer, and the guy hooked it to his truck and delivered it to me on his way to work. Not a bad deal.

Re: small boat

What makes me sick is that when I find a good deal on a aluminum flat bottom boat or even a semi V hull I either I don't have the money to get it. I personally have been looking for one to throw a small motor on for when I go fishing by myself, or throw in the pond out back.

I have seen them for free on craigslist in north Alabama but I always miss out on the deal. I have also heard of people junking them and I never hear about it until it was to late.

I had a chance to buy one from my uncle for $75, I mentioned it to another uncle and they talked me out of buying it because it was supposidly "junk". Well I said something else about it again to this other uncle and after the boat was done sold out from under me this uncle said "oh that was a different boat, I was thinking about another boat which was junk". This kind of stuff makes me sick.

I bought a 14ft deep V aluminum boat for $100, I couldn't pass the deal up even though I will half to put decking in it, a steering system, and a transom (which is not big deal just got to find the time to do it). I am still looking for a flat bottom.
