Is it normal? I know boats shouldnt have water but this is a 97 brendella. After running all day there is about an inch small pool right by the plug. I know my shaft drips a little water as it should but it looks like the black coating over the fb is flaking. Could it be I need a new plug? It's tight. I didn't notice water leaking from anywhere....

Run it and check for leaks. Your circulation pump may be leaking or even your exhaust hoses. If it not enough to pump out I would not worry too much unless it starts to get worse. Was the boat winterized? Block and manifold plugs tight? Maybe your raw water pump needs some TLC. Lots of things that can leak.

Those bolts and plug that we see in the picture . . . are they in the hull? there could be your leak.
