I run a 90 hp Yamaha Inshore motor-a 98', on a 17' Flats boat, partial tunnel hull....
when i gun it from a stop, it is very slow to go and take off. After it gts going it is fine. I was told to check the plugs and floats? Any ideas? The motor is still very new...less than 80 hours. im still new to this so any help would be apptreciated.

Re: Sluggish Take Off

Sounds like it's bogging down - too much gas at full throttle before reaching RPM or not enough air. Why do you want to gun it? If you take off at a normal rate of acceleration does the same happen? A good start is to clean your plugs and make sure the carb floats are not sticking.

If you feel your post needs to be reposted simply reply to your own message. This gets it to the top of the list. Multiple posts are annoying and cause confusion.
