I've got a friend who just got a Seadoo Bombardier. He was driving it with no problem. Another person got on, drove it across lake and tried a 360. He flipped it over and the engine got wet. The Seadoo now has a good holeshot just like before but after it plains out, it dies down just as if it has a governor on the engine. Any ideas as to why it will not keep the rpm's and speed? Thanks for any help.

your friend may have righted the ski wrong. if you look on the back of any ski, it should have a sticker telling you to turn she ski over a certain direction, usually counter-clockwise, so you dont get water from the water manifold into the pistons. i am not sure exactly what this would cause, but it is possible it is your problem, if so, your gonna need to start takin stuff apart. another possibility is that you got one of the electrical components wet, such as a power switch, causing a bad connection and giving a weak spark.

There are many models and your post dosen't say the model so its difficult to answer ,if it has a rear box with the plug wires coming out open it and see if water is inside, check the in line water trap on the fuel system also, he may have ingested water by turning it back over on the wrong side and could have stuck a ring, do a compression check, a stuck ring will make it act sluggish at top end and in hard turns.

one other thing if he took in water in the engine it may have forced some of the water in to the fuel pump via the pulse tube, this will prevent the pump from working properly , remove the pulse tube from the pump and blow low preasure air in the pump nipple and see if water comes out very low preasure like 10 lbs.
