slow steering

my 73 tri haul with 140 merc and alpha one outdrive with 19 pitch prop in the wake zone at slow speeds has a hard time moving straight i am constantely haveing to over steer it to get any responce -- my trim tab is pited but all there<br />is this normal---anything ican do fix or help the problem

It is pretty normal for I/Os to wander a bit at slow speeds. However if you have too much play in your steering then you should figure out where it is. Check the play on the out drive as well as play in the steering system.
