Slow start

Hello,
My boat is powered by a 1990 OMC I/O, 4.3 175 horsepower V6. Always seems to start after I release the key from the start position. It is like the starter can turn and turn but it fires when the starter stops and then it starts and runs. Done this as long as I can remember. Why?

well, (just my theory) But I think theres 2 wires that power the coil. One for the cranking cycle, and one for the run cycle.

The one for the cranking cycle isnt working.

yep
