I HAVE A 1983 MARINER 115HP THE MOTOR RUNS FINE WHEN ITS NOT UNDER LOAD (IN MY DRIVEWAY,& AT THE SHOP).ONCE I'M ON THE WATER IT WILL DIE IF I GO PAST 1/2 THROTTLE. I'VE REPLACED THE FUEL LINES, REBUILT THE FUEL PUMP,HAD A TUNE-UP, NEW PLUGS, DRAINED THE GAS TANK & NEW FUEL,I HAVE 16'OF FUEL LINE FROM TANK TO MOTOR I THOUGHT THAT MIGHT BE TO MUCH SO I TRIED A PORTABLE TANK WITH 4' FUEL LINE NO LUCK.ONE OUT OF TEN TRIES IT WILL RUN GREAT,AND ONCE I GET GOING IT RUNS GREAT. ANY IDEAS???

Re: slow start

had a similar problem once, and it was gaskets in the carbs. The gasket that failed was the one that was a little circle and sealed the main jet part on the bowl to the carb. It was leaky, and when I got enough vaccuum to run on mainjet, it would suck gas from the bowl and flood out. Carb gasket kit for that one should be about 4 bucks, and I would put a bit of money on that being your problem. Good Luck
