Hello everyone, this is my first time so here goes. i have a 1988 50 hp force engine. I put a new prop on her over the winter and redid the flooring in my boat. When i did the flooring i realized that i screwed the throttle linkage close to 2 inches back off the original mark. Anyway, when i started her up last week she ran fine until I got to about half throttle, than it seemed like she slipped, the engine revved high but it didn't go anywhere. I lowered the throttle and it was like she "went back into gear" and continued to run smoothly. Is it the prop?, linkage system or my fear of transmission problems. Thanks a lot. Could someone also tell me very plainly how to adjust the throttle. THanks

Hi, James.

Welcome to the board.

Your most likely causes are:

Spun or bad hub in the prop. Could have been bad when you bought it. :(

Prop ventilating (catching air and spinning the wheel in foam).

Good luck. :)
