My son bought me this Slip-Ring Mechanical anchor for my birthday. Last year I had no anchor at all, just kept forgetting to pick one up. I'm looking for a picture of how to rig this anchor up for use on my 17' bowrider. 2nd year boater here & don't know what to set it up with, do I need a chain attached to the slip-ring or just tie it up to a rope? Totally super newbi question, but I gotta ask. Thanks

Thats what I have.

You want a length of chain, to help the anchor stay flat on the bottom. I think I have 10ft, then it switches to 150ft of rope.

To use it, just idle over the anchor while you're bringing in the slack on the line, and the ring will slide up to the crown slipping the flukes out of the bottom.

We have signs up at work... "Its easier to ask a dumb question than it is to fix a dumb mistake"
