Just curious here on what you paid for your last sleep set and the Manufacture?<br />Did you buy from a department store or did you buy factory direct?<br />Do you know what really is inside that sleep set or did you believe the salesman? Do you believe that the more you pay the better you get?

I don't recall specifics on the work bench, but its a king size, bought from American TV (a kinda local chain), and paid somewhere around $800 for box and mattress, a Serta I believe.<br /><br />I do believe that price does reflect quality/durability to a large degree.

pjc..what kinda of waranty did they give? Is it a limited Warranty or a full replacement Warranty..Are you happy with it?

Has been a good 4 years since we bought the set. Never needed the warranty, and do not recall specifics. Very happy with it. We do randomly flip the mattress over though.

Bought a pillow top upper middle range set about three years ago for about $400 including frame and matress pad. 5 year warranty. (queen)<br /><br />Best bed I ever had was made at VERLO which is a chain of on-site mfgr'ed beds. It was like sleeping on a cloud and back in those days money was hard to come by so I bought a mis-matched set for about $300 including delivery. (green matress and tan box spring) (king) How has it held up? Call my ex-wife.<br /><br />Hate to pay full retail for anything, so I am usually leary of the value added aspects of a $600 premium. I have heard good things about those tempra-pedic beds but have never tried one.

Had one made to fit a XL-King Log bed frame I made.. Some crazy foam stuff with a different type of foam 'egg carton' type layer bonded to the top and bottom so you can flip it. <br /><br />Unlike Pointer, thats one thing I protected in the battle. At 6'5" and 220-225lbs I wasn't about to let the 5'4" 120lb 'hell beast' walk away with it like she did with the rest of the interior. <br /><br />Bought it from a company in Sheboygan, WI that specialises in foams. I think I paid $150 for it and picked it up myself.<br /><br />No warranty or anything ... just a comfortable good nights rest.<br /><br />say how'd the trip go?

I see Wisconsin is well represented on this thread, and I will keep that trend going. I also bought a Serta from American TV. It has a ten year warranty. After the first couple of weeks, it had springs sticking out of the side (and it wasn't for any cool reasons!). American/Serta replaced it with a brand new one. No problems since. I think it was around $600 for the set. Pillow top queen.

Bought name brand - think it's a Sealy - at a major department store - upwards of $500, over 6 years ago, don't remember the warranty details. Very satisfied with the quality, and I think in general with beds you do get better quality at higher prices. Retailer margins can make a difference.<br /><br />First bed I ever bought, off-brand from a local dealer who quoted me the price for "mattress and box." When they delivered it I discovered my mistake of assuming he meant "box springs" - nope, it was just a wooden box covered in fabric!

Pointer.That is what they call a limited or pro rated Set..You will get four or five years out of it then spend another 600 dollars....All mattresses feel good for a while.....Simmons for instance, their five hundred dollar set and 2000 doller set has the same spring unit..Once a comfort zone is added the price goes up..Your not getting a better product..<br /><br />Most maunfacturers will mark up a price the night before to bring it back down to original price..Consumers as a whole believe anything..<br /><br />Ah the Temperpedic or Nasa foam..Its commonly called the senile foam..Over a period of time it looses its memory and then you are sleeping in a hole..it also sweats as do most loose cell foam does..Some believe its good cause the astronaunts use it..Hate ta bust anyones bubble here the crew sleeps in a sleeping type bag..Insulator yes..<br /><br />If a price is to good it usually is...Consumers are very gullible as a whole.. do a little reasearch before you buy....Don't buy the first place you go<br />Here is a few ponters when chosing a sleep set<br /><br />Limited warranty's will last about five or six years then it time for a new one<br /><br />Full replacement warrantys ten to fiften years..100% covered..good buy<br /><br />Mattress consists of a spring unit for support and padding is added for comfort..<br /><br />A 14 1/2 or 12 3/4 gauge wire is your best buy..<br /><br />There is no miracle matress out there..If your not sleeping well make sure you have a clean concience when ya go to Bed, then check your bed<br /><br />If you sleep better in a motel and not home its time..<br /><br />Know what a box spring is versus a foundation..A foundation is wood that stores put under them to make more profit..True torsion bar wire grids are the best..

Take it back, mine is a Sealy. Gonfisn, may I ask how you became a bed expert? I do agree that it is an important purchase and can effect all of the other aspects of your life. Good sleep = good day.

I sleep on a great big quit on the floor that I stole offen my neighbor whilest he was asleep in a drunken stuper When I can get the dog to move over it sleeps very well,<br />Cost--0<br />Soap to wash dog smell off $100.oo<br />

Never bought a mattress in my life...always hand-me-downs.<br />Although now that I have arthritis in my spine, I'm looking into one of those theraputic beds. I think the cost is around $4000 Canadian, but I can write off 75% of it on income tax.

Got the softest queen size I could find.<br />Cloud Nine brand, not pretty to look at, but I have sheets to cover it.<br />$250 from small clearance outlet in Marshfiels Wisconsin.<br />No boxspring or frame, had that already.
