Slabbing for walleye

Went to the lake yesterday, air temp was around 75 with a clod front coming in. Starting slabbing and caught out limit of 6 in about 3 hours.

OK, I've hear of this method before, but I'm not really sure. Just what the heck is slabbing?

75* you lucky dog!!!nice catch,i dont much at all about walleyes,but what is slabbing?using a spoon??

It is a vertical jigging technique using a metal spoon, Around here we like the castmaster.

The lure is a flat lead weight painted. You cast it out and use strong (almost like setting the hook) vertical motion of about 18 inches, let it settle on the bottom again and do it again.
