New to this forum game but thank you in advance
Have a 2001 mercury 4 stroke 90 hp on a Boston whaler.
It starts and runs perfect till I get to 2200 rpms and than starts skipping (or sounds that way) if I push it through the rpms by feathering the throttle to 2800 rpms in goes back to running perfect all rest of the rpms. Also does the same coming back down through rpms.
If I put the remote control in neutral ( foward or reverse) it goes through all rpms fine.
I have put a lot of time in trying everything from changing cdi box, throttle position switch, bypassed shift interrupter, cleaned and synced carbs with no luck. Any help would be great thanks!
