I loooove to ski! Double and single!

I have always wanted to ski off a wakeboard tower...would that make it a ski tower? Hehe

Has anyone ever done it?

I would thing it would make the start out of the whole easier and out side of the wake more fun!

I have yet to try wakeboarding but if I got a tower I'm sure I would!

It would suck on one ski, you would be rolling the boat back and forth with every turn.

Rope is up high, cut hard and the boat is going to rock giving you more rope. I move the back of my runabout around enough with the rope where it belongs.

i can see that happening a bit. would litterally roll the boat one way or the other...but wouldnt that happen with a wakeboard also? well maybe not they dont go out of the wake as far...but they do pull from one extreme side to the other....

side note: (www.oldjeep.com) i have an 89 wrangler that is my wheeler! have had her for 10 years!!

It does happen with a wake board too. Difference is that wakeboard speed is 20 mph or so and not laying down on the turns. Skier is going more in the range of 30-34 mph and is not real happy when you get extra slack on the turn. Not to mention that the rope height and angle would be way to high for skiing.

Leave the tower for the wakeboard

What about barefooting? Seems to me that when I get my tower installed I will want to barefoot from it, as well as wakeboard. I would think the extra pull up would help with deep water starts?

Towers/tall pylons are popular with barefooters.
It is pretty tough to get out wide of the boat when footing to create any side loads.

I've skiied off my tower--not ideal. It's more the angle of the rope than the rolling of the boat. Tends to want to launch you over the wake. Good for wakeboarding, not so much for skiing.

Towers are great to help rookies get started and if you have trick skis. They are fine if you are on two skis but make it harder to ski on a slalom ski. (Never pull a tube from a tower, the strain can damage stuff)
