skeq chipped pretty good,need advise

I hit something and it has chipped up my skeq and took a nice piece out if it. can I still use engine, can it be fixed ? does it hurt to run with skeg chipped up and piece missing ?

Sporty! <br />You can run your boat with a chipped skeg but prior to doing this,be shure you don't have any other lower unit problems, (bent prop shaft ,no metel in the unit and no obivious cracs in the unit, ECT.) The skeg can be replaced if you can find a local welder or know one who can weld. REMINDER they are welding aluminum not steel!<br /><br />Nick
