I purchased a '97 Skeeter ZX 202C Bass Boat with a custom EZ Loader tandem trailer in SC. In that state registrations and ownership of trailers is not necessary. My motor vehicle in NY wants a notarized bill of sale from the seller with the vin number. It's almost impossible to read. Does anyone know the correct starting numbers and letters for a custom ez loader trailer for Skeeters in '97? Also, what's the total number of letters/numbers in a vin? Are there only numbers or are there letters in the vin, besides in the first two? If I knew what I was looking for, I think I could figure the correct vin out.
Also, would a dealership keep a record of a boat matched to a trailer from as old as '97?
I wrote to the Skeeter and EZ Loader Companies to see if they keep those records. No responses.
I prefer not to go the route of homemade trailer.
There are no numbers/letters engraved on this trailer, only the useless label.
