i have a 31 foot cruiser (Sea Ray 280 Sundancer) with 3 batters - 2 cranking batteries and 1 house battery. I need to replace my house battery which is currently a cranking type.

At night we run a small 12v refridgerator, anchor light, fresh water pump, vacu-flush head and my CPAP machine - all on 12 volt - no inverter. What size marine, house type batter would you recommend for being able run all of that 10 hours a night for 3 or 4 days?

You have a big boat and big boats have lots of interior lighting. I'm sure most people don't know what a CPAP machine is but I do as I use one as well. You really need more than one house battery. For a three or four day outing I would contend you need at least two of the largest marine deep cycles you can find. And you might even consider carrying a portable Honda genset to keep them charged. All of this is moot of course if you have an on-board genset.

Continuous Postive Airway Pressure. It's a mini-air compressor that people with breathing disorders or sleep apnea use to pump air into them at night. People with sleep apnea stop breathing for various periods of time. The brain then begins to shut down other organs and one usually wakes up gasping for breath. In severe cases (like mine) left untreated you may not wake up. Heart damage can also occur if left untreated. If you snore or wake up periodically short of breath, get to a doctor and demand a sleep study. This is nothing to fool with. My CPAP goes where I go.

Thanks for the info. Not something to be taken lightly.
