Size Of Gas Tank (Gallons)?

Have a 1992 Celebrity 200 Cuddy Cabin w/5.7L (350) engine and need to know how many gallons our gas tank is. A few years ago, we were told it was a 90 gallon tank. Last January, we put 40 gallons of gas in it and that filled it. At that time, we had a less than a quarter tank of gas in it. That doesn't sound like a 90 gallon gas tank to me! Anyway, due to physical limitations right now, we can't look at the info tag on the top of the tank. We were hoping someone in the Forum could tell us.
Thank you!

Look for the tank's fuel sender. Many boats have an access plate in the deck right over it. Next to the sender on the tank is a tag that states capacity.

True dat. Also you can never rely on a fuel gauge in a boat to tell you how many gallons are in the tank. None of them work that way that well. Likewise you can never be sure a boat tank is full just because the gas splashes over.

That just how boats are.

I was amazed when I had 1/8 tank of fuel left in my boat according to the gauge but I put 49 gallons in to an 80 gallon tank.

My boat doesn't have gas gauges. There is a cutout in the panels that cover the tanks (2x23gal) that lets you see the fuel level directly (poly tanks). If I can't see any gas in the tank, its empty.

Re: Size Of Gas Tank (Gallons)?

Basically, same question although that question was about an Owners Operating Manual. Even though I don't work on any kind of engines, we did buy a Manual for the engine/outdrive.

So, you think it is a 36.6 gallon tank? Since we filled the tank completely last January, and it took 40 gallons and there was some gas in the tank when we filled it, the tank capacity has to be at least 50 gallons. At least that's what we figure.

Right now we can't lift up the rear bench seat so we can access the round screwed-in plate where the info plate is. I injured my bicep/shoulder this last August and can't lift up that seat. My wife hasn't got enough strength in her arms to lift the bench seat and we don't know anyone to help us. This is the reason I done this Thread.........to get info instead of us physically looking at the plate.

A 1992 Celebrity 200 BR has a 150L (36.6 gal) fuel tank. Your CC should be the same.

Are you still asking same question asked in 2009 ??

So why do you expect the OP to know about boatus messageboards ?

.

Simple, because he posted on that board. Thought it was odd the OP had not figured it out in 3 years. Would seem that there were plenty of opportunities to
fill the fuel tank during a 3 year span. That is all, and I was merely asking him a question, has absolutely nothing to do with "playing nice".
