I recently picked up another Ponoon Boat, 24 foot 98 Crestliner, that has a small sink in front of the drivers console. I have not tried it out yet to see if it even works, but my real questions for those of you with sinks is what do you use them for?

It seems to small to be of much use for cleaning fish so I am not real sure what the intended function is. It has a removable water container that appears to hold about a gallon of water and uses a hand pump to pump water. I guess I could fill it with liquor and have a covert bar, but what else is it used for?

For me? To wash my hands of fish blood and nasty bait before filling a glass of wine for the lady.

I'm looking for a portable sink to bring aboard since mine didn't come so equipped. It needs to be self-contained (fill with water, capture drained water). I haven't had much luck.

Any ideas?

Check places that sell camping gear; Cabelas, etc. Some bubba mods may be required, but I bet you can find something that will work.

For example, I just ran across this one. Hooks up to a jerry can and pressurizes the flow enough to provide running water. Haven't looked at it very hard, but the sink section appears to have it's own support structure, so you could probably easily detach it. If you're the least bit handy you could even enclose it. With a little imagination I'd say you could have your party barge sink operational and nice looking for $250 or less. Just one example of the kinds of possibilities out there. Good luck.

Ok, to bump this back to the origional post, besides washing your hands what do some of the rest of you do with the small sinks on pontoons. It seems to take up a good bit of room on my boat if I will not be using it.

I don't have one and can't think of one time I wished I did. I guess if you do a lot of fishing it might come in handy.

Fill the 5 gallon water jug that supplies the sink with wine or beer, place jug on Ice instant drink tap for enjoyment.

We have one on our boat and there is no tank, just a pressue bulb and a hose. How about a 2 gallon pressure sprayer attached to the sink for whatever liquid you would want to use? it drains back to the lake however so probably just used for washing hands.

I also have one of those on my boat and the only thing its ever been used for is to hold sunglasses or whatever else is placed there. Im acually thinking of removing the sink and putting a custom trash can in there
