Single solenoid versus double solenoid interchangeability

My 1980 new to me old boat has a dual solenoid trim pump. With some spare parts also have a single solenoid pump out of a maybe five year older boat. Are the pumps themselves interchangeable? Just wondering if this single solenoid part is worth keeping around as a spare.

As a general rule I never throw away any serviceable parts. You never know if/when they may be useful. Maybe your next boat ;) or some guy you meet at the launch has been searching for that particular pump.

While not a bad idea I'm still left with the original question. Does anyone know if the pumps with the single or double solenoid electrical arrangements around them are interchangeable?
