Simrad nSS7 EVO3, do I need a Sonar Hub, or can I get sonar direct to display from Transducer?

Im confused about the sonar hub, what does it do for me and why do I really need it?

Doesnt the evo3 get frontscan from a normal rear mounted trandsducer directly mounted to the Simrad NSS7? Why would I need to plug it into a Sonar Hub? I get you can use multiple transducers, but if one does the job why do you need more?

Fowardscan requires a separate thru hull transducer

thank you, but from what i can see, you can connect that directly to the plotter itself, there doesnt seem to be the must have sonar hub?

On that note the through hull ones seem reasonably priced.

The whole thing is as clear as mud..

According to the manual you can plug a Forward Scan transducer into Port #2
