silver mod wheels repaint , what color ?? not galv

guys I have a tandem axle trailer and the rims ( wheels ) are called silver mod, ITS IS NOT GALVANIZED .... it looks just like silver spray paint on the tires, I got a flat and had to replace one tire and rim, and the only rim the store had was white ( same style ) but white...I don't have the energy to take the other 3 off and paint all 4, too fat too old

I went to Wal-mart and looked at the colors selection, I bought smoke grey thinking it looked the closest, but it too dark and too flat, so I got another can of aluminum this time and its way to shinny.

gonna try this one last time, but I figured I ask if anyone else had run into this and found a paint that matched really close

its Rustoleum paint if that matters

Matching paint to the existing wheelset will be tough. Maybe just repaint all four wheels.

I highly recommend Duplicolor, their stuff is topnotch, and their higher wear auto paints last on engine blocks and brake calipers in some pretty demanding environments.

I taped off the tires and buddy bearings and shot mine in flat black bbq paint.



Its held up great so far this season.

I bought a white one too.I had some rim paint laying around so mine went gunmetal. Now I want to paint the trailer black

Impossible to match and too much work anyway. Just buy a set of cheap plastic hubcaps. If you have bearing buddies, simply drill a hole in the center of the hubcaps.
