Silly Question

I was out fishing today and seen a hardtop fishing boat with a radar dome, Gps external antenna, and "six" count em "six" 8ft VHF looking antennas mounted on it. Why would you need that many ?. What other kind of electronic stuff does he have on that thing.?

Are you sure they weren't outriggers? I've never known anybody to need more than 2 outriggers and 1 vhf. That still leaves 3 unknowns if they were outriggers. Maybe he doubled up on everything just in case

Police cars have multiple antennas to enable their dispatcher to triangulate their location from radio signals. I once fished on a boat with six outriggers - 3 port, 3 starboard...it was a cruiser though...

No these were not outriggers, I was close enough to see that they were Shakespeare Antennas with ratchet mounts. Overkill Huh?

Maybe he had a VHF, AM/FM, external cell phone, Loran, single side band, and a marine cb antennas. Thats one for every one of Shakespears applications.
