Sierra fuel filter /water seperator

Is there any recalls, service bullitains, or thoughts on the Sierra 18-7919 fuel separator filters with the plastic settlement bulbs on the bottom? I see lots of complaints on them on Amazon. I was thinking about ordering another screw on filter, lots of folks say that the clear plastic bulb is popping off. Wonder if a regular closed filter will fit?

Never had one fail myself. Not sure if a regular one will fit. If it's in the engine room, I don't think it can have the plastic bowl.

Have not heard of a recall but also never used one. Only allowed to be used on diesels and OB

There wasnt a recall per say, but Racor issued a maintenance notice on plastic bowls a year or so ago.

Bowls without a PUR or Z mark on the bottom should be replaced immediately

FWIW: used Racor filters for over 20 years. Have not had one failure.

Cant speak for the knock offs out there
