Sierra exhaust manifolds

I have a cracked Factory Mercruiser Manifold and was wondering if I will run into any issues with running a Merc on one side and the sierra on the other side.

There's no real problem with different manifolds on an engine.


Why did it crack?

inproper winterization, got the boat dirt cheap because they also cracked the block on it.

Yeah, that'll do it.

Most people replace both manifolds. If the other one has a crack in an area where you cannot see it, you could ruin the "new" engine.

Another reason to replace both at the same time is water follows the path of least resistance. If you have rust and corrosion in one manifold, most of the water will travel through the new one, thus allowing the old one to overheat.

Ayuh,... Manifolds are replaced in Pairs, for the reasons noted above....

so I pulled my manifolds off today and they are stamped with the numbers 87114BC2 and 87114C2A, The Sierra part number 18-1953-2 says it replaces 87114A19 and 860246A10.

Are these still going to work? Mine are center riser like the sierra's in the link

Ayuh,... Part #s change,... Alot....
If the old, 'n new Look the same in the pictures,...
I'd be pretty confident they are in fact the Same parts...
