I picked up a set of Chromed spoked weels and now I want to put some side pipes on it like you used to see on "real vetts" :)

It has a semi stock motor (4 cyl) with a after market header.
I saw one in eastern WA with them but he only ran the exhaust to just one side. I thought that was kinda funky.

I did not get a chance to talk to the guy to ask him about it.
Is there any reason I shouldn't be able to put a "T" after the header and run the exhaust to both sides??

Thanks

Link, check in the jcwhittney.com site or get their catalog.I had a set from them on a'72 datsun pick up(4cyl.) and they came with a Y pipe so both sides worked.they looked just like the ones on vetts
I think they were called renegades.
they came out just under the bottom of the fender and ran back to just infront of the back tires.there was a 4" glass pack inside be hind the heat shield.

You into mind reading? :)
That was going to be my next question. About JCW side pipes. These little fake vetts arn't worth putting a lot of money into unless its just because you want to for personal use.

At this point in time we are going to drive it this summer as is just putting little things on it like chromed spokes and side pipes.
Maybe a cheap Opel white paint job on the outside only.

If we deciede to keep it as a car we both like, then it will get stripped down and done right. LubeDude style.

These little opels are a blast to drive. I had a red '70 and loved it! Make sure to use a 'Y'and not a 'T' for the exhaust.

RF even a guy with blonde roots knows that. But I have seen that done before :( And since I have blonde roots .. thanks! :)

Richard, if we keep it for the long haul, 200 HP for a 2000 lb car with a 5 speed trany (BMW) which they are, is minimum.

Must have a corvette for breakfast! Then a XKE for lunch!
But add in AC a must for me.. and now we are up to 240 HP

I might be just dreaming but a old alum block "olds" 215 V8 that only weights in at 5 pounds more than the 4 banger would be a good choice! :) :) Yup Old School
