Re: sick evinrude

did it always do that or is it a new condition? set the high speed jet to the default and try it.

Still need to know what engine you're speaking of.

Re: sick evinrude

Your carburetors are fouled. Remove, dismantle, clean, and rebuild both of them. Be sure to manually clean the fixed high speed jets that are located in the bottom center of the float chambers.

Re: sick evinrude

Have you checked for spark. If not, remove spark plugs, then check to see if spark will jump a 7/16" gap on all cylinders. Does it?

finnally test run runs good then lets up. found that the fuel line ball does not stay very hard seems like you have to squeeze it a lot.

Re: sick evinrude

Fuel primer bulbs are normally installed so that they lay flat (horizontal) when running. The normal function is that the fuel level will drop to the halfway point which is normal. It will stay full and hard only if installed in a vertical position with the outlet facing up.

If squeezing the fuel pump, acting as a manual fuel pump, cures the problem, then the trouble is with the fuel pump (whichever type you have).

Spark..... With the s/plugs removed, the spark at cranking speed should jump a 7/16" gap with a strong blue lightning like flame.... a real SNAP! Does it?
