Re: Show Your Sea Nymph

Does anyone have info on where to buy a bimi top with snaps on the side to a 91 Fish and Ski Sea Nymph? This boat was originally bought in Michigan.I've searched the net and haven't found anything that comes close.

By OMC you say? Cause my Grumman 12 foot Vee looks exactly like that, and Grumman was also made by OMC before Lowe (I think) bought it out. And how many ponies ya got on the back?

Glad to see a thread here for Sea Nymphs.
One of the better aluminum boats, in my opinion.
Here is my 78:

Not exactly a Sea Nymph cuz it aint even seaworthy but i would like to share it anyway and i did it here cuz io cant find anything closer related/looking like it.
Its a Quicksilver 410SL with a Force 25HP 3cyl weighing only 42kilos :p

Random vid of me showing off :)

The boat is made for max 9HP so had to make some changes to the transom :p
Its 2 pieces of special really hard wood they use to pour contrete and 2 T strips a alluminum on both sides of the outboard :)

Here is my 1992 FM 141 with a 1976 Evinrude 25HP outboard. I had to add a home made jack plate for the long shaft outboard. It really makes the boat go.

Re: Show Your Sea Nymph

Ill be removing the side console and the large cooler seat to both lighten it up and to free up some fishing room. I'm debating weather i want to remove the rod storage on the side b/c it really takes up alot of room and would
improve performance of my 4 Stroke 04 Yamaha 25hp tiller..

Does anyone on here have the same model and has any advice on what i should look out for?

Seeing these old Sea Nymphs sure is wetting my appetite for one of my own.
Kiss Lund good bye? Where can I find vintage Sea Nymph sales literature,by
the way? I would be looking for literature from possibly 1986 to 1995. It sure
would give me ideas as to the exact model I am looking for. New boats such as Lowe's versions are getting way to costly even for the least expensive
boats. I would like to find a 14R Sea Nymph with 25 hp Johnson or Evinrude
motor.

Re: Show Your Sea Nymph

I have just bought an old Sea Nymph aluminum boat with wood along the gunnels, I don't know the year or model. I am in the process of cleaning and brighting the wood and some will need to be replaced on the outside of the transom. Any ideas on finding out what year or model this is?

Re: Show Your Sea Nymph

Proud owner of a '88 Sea Nymph SS175 Fish n 'ski. Just got it 2 months ago. has the original 50 hp force motor that runs great and a shorelander trailer. Having a lot of fun with it. I plan on re-doing the floor this winter.
Its not bad but i take on a little water ( maybe a gallon a day) and I want to find out where its coming from.
The interior can use a good restoration, would like to get rid of all carpet...any suggustions on what to use instead? I did a quick replacement or the floor in the bow area because it was bad and i covered the 3/4" plywood with that plastic sheeting you see sometimes in bathrooms..its OK but thought there may be a better solution

Thanks
bill

Re: Show Your Sea Nymph

Hi Guys:

I'm sure glad to discover there is actually a Sea Nymph page! I've been running a 1462 since the early seventies (then called a Big Water 14)when my next door neighbor bought one. I own two of these boats because I run them in different locales. I dumped my 13 Whaler for one of these because they are drier and just plain ride better in slop. Heres a picture of my "green" freshwater boat, she's a 2002, but dolled up like an early 70's boat with 1973 vintage graphics. The motor is a 1973 25 hp Johnson that was used one season, then stored in a closet for 25 years when I bought it. I painted the boat with Interlux polyurethane because I got tired of olive drab jon boats. I'll post my "Blue" Saltwater boat when I get some pix.

OK, This is embarrasing, I can't seemto get the pictures to upload !
