Shout Out to Starmada! Need a little help with the "Splash of the Year" award!

Starmada Guys/Gals - I haven't disappeared nor has this idea!-Just freaking busy trying to start a company (my second) as well as some family hospital type stuff (all is now well).

Anyway - now to the important. I pretty much have the design concept for the SOTY award done. Two things:

1. The award will have a "classic" SC image on it. As much as my 68 Holiday (I/O )would look good - I do have a couple of other options - I do think that an old Starchief/Islander or an early sixties Jet silouette is exclusive to SC and would look best. If anyone has a jpeg from your own personal stash or can find one PM me so I can send you my email. I scoured the brochures and just couldn't find the "perfect" one yet.
2. Does anyone have an old and extra step pad frame - if you are smart you get the idea of what I am doing.

The costs aren't that much so I got that covered - but your help would be appreciated!

wfralpacas' Starchief or bananaboater's Jet would both be great candidates, as each raised the "restoration bar" for their particular model.

I'm sure they have some profile images that would work for you. (if not they can get out the camera).

Hey Starcrafter,

Step pad frames come up on ebay relatively often. I have a search set up for SC parts and have seen them. And some folks here part out SCs. Should not be too hard to find one. Sorry can't spare one of mine.

Hey Clark, I did this real simple one in photo-shop...used your finished photo from your thread...maybe someone with 'real' Photo-shop skills could do one up nice for you...if this is the type of silouette your looking for.

Sorry about the step pad bud! I think I gave them to a guy who drove up from GA to pick up the rear seat frames from Old Blue.

Kenny - I am going to get a picture laser embossed onto a piece of plate and frame it with the step pad. The laser embossing is really cool - it is just the picture in black and white - so it shows all the detail - so what I really need is a good picture.

Here is my current top candidate:

I can crop it to show just the boat - naturally a Holiday would look cool - any other options just add to the thread!!

Good call Clark, that is actually my favorite image from all the brochures.

Seems like those two people walking on the beach are in paradise(looks alot like northern Michigan).

Just looking at it makes you want to own a Starcraft, though not necessarily with a Merc on it.

I'm cool with this. It's the best picture of a Starcraft I recall ever seeing. Very sixties which I think was the best decade for these boats, IMHO. The scenery is great too, Michigan dunes for sure. That brings back memories of Northern Michigan.

I love the way the old Mercs look. I love the way the old Johnsons run.

Yah, that photo looks like a place I launch out of when kayaking along Sleeping Bear Dunes - beautiful!

Ok - Keep your eyes peeled for a Gen-U-Ine SC step pad - I am going to go forward with everything else and have the pic sized so it will be framed by the standard step pad.

It'll come up somewhere!

Not exactly SC but close. SC's have a frame that is a bit out of square.
