Should water be coming out of this gasket?

Hi guys, I have a 2014 Honda 500HP with about 130hrs. I noticed that water(saltwater) has been seeping out of the vertical gasket on my block(pics to follow). I can tell because after a run I'll see salt crystals along the gasket. It's not alot of water, but enough to coat the gasket with salt crystals.

I always thought that everything under the cowling is supposed to be watertight, but I was told by the place I bought the motor from that while it's not super common, it does happen and it's not an issue. He said to wash it down and shoot the engine down with fluid film, wd40, etc to prevent further damage. The crappy thing is it seems that the salt is causing other parts of the engine to rust as well(nuts, etc). But I'm more concerned that this might be a bigger issue and something that I need to get resolved, especially while it's still under warranty.

Note this was after a few runs and I had knocked a bunch of it off with my finger...

Thanks in advance!

Not a Honda guy. But I'd say no, If it's a common problem, the dealer should make it right. Have you contacted Honda directly?

What all Owner?s Manual states but just few boater do is send OB to dealer to have all gaskets, bolts for a re torque soon after 10-20 break in hours finishes.

Gaskets cedes, compreses with time and use. Bolts, gaskets torqued at factory will not remain same. If not re torqued will see salt cristals forming contour of gaskets, add unwanted oxidation, corrotion on both mating surfaces too.

An outboard is not a automobile..

Never knew Honda made a 500hp..... Like Sea Rider stated, did you get the covers retorqued? I myself would be buying new gaskets, cleaning the mating surfaces and starting over.

Betadog probably added one more 0. 500 HP seems way to much to max 350 HP seen now a days. Is head gasket running the same fate ? Personally like to re torque all gaskets priodically specially if running on salty waters, This procedure assures less oxidation, corrotion on all metal mating surfaces.

Ya, it's a 50hp. :). A 500hp would sink my boat! Any idea what the lbs of pressure it should be? Maybe I can borrow a torque wrench...

Better get a Service Manual for that model and have all bolts retorqued to factory specs, you'll be surprised on how much they've cede. Exhaust & thermostat covers, cylinder head, base gasket parts which water passes side of them are critical to develop white salt lines formations if not torqued to specs.
