No, not unless it is a direct drive but then you wouldn't have a shift selector. Sometimes if the water is exhaust thru the prop it may move the prop but there should be no drive associated with it.<br />Mike

You did not say what engine you have...But if its a push button type..Its normal for it to turn till hydrolic pressure builds up and then the prop should stop. <br /><br />Some drives will turn just a little...It depends on what you have?

a few omc hydroelectric shift lower units need hyd. presure to shift to neturl on these motors the prop will spin until the motor lites up providing everything is working rite
