Hi guys and thank you inadvance for your advice. I'm looking at a '79 Starcraft bowrider, 16'. It has a 65hp Evinrude motor. I am new to boating and just want something for fishing etc. Any suggestions or help?

It depends on the the condition of the boat in relation to the cost of purchase. Other then that, Starcraft is a very good boat and the 65hp motor will serve you well for the 16' boat. But remember the boat is 30 years old and my be in need of a little TLC. I've had 2 Starcrafts, and they are very easy to repair and trailer well. Salt water is my biggest headache, so I try to keep out of it.

Is it a Super Sport 16 (aluminum) or an American 16 (fiberglass)? BIG difference in possible problems and issues...
