Performed a decarb yesterday evening. As directed in the top secret thread. Just before I ran out my little
Spray bottle of searoam. I sprayed to much and killed the motor. When I restarted it she seemed to be
missing and started back firing. I killed it let it set a min. Restarted it she was fine. Just wanted to get y'alls take. My first thought was fouling on one spark plug. I haven't rechecked compression yet.

You didn't hurt anything, just broke up some carbon that's all. Next time you do that, go a little slower and let the motor breath. Decarb is a serious product so don't over do it. You'll be impressed with the performance of the motor when it's done.

Check your spark plugs for signs of fouling. Some people have said that decarbing causes plugs to foul, although I have never had the problem. Maybe my motors were cleaner.

The other problem that can sometimes arise when seafoam is added in large quantities to gas is that chunks of crud may get dislodged and end up in the slow speed jet of your carb. They probably would have found their way there anyways but the seafoam may speed up the process. Because of this I always prefer to spray the seafoam directly into the carb and later into the spark plug holes.

I do put about 1.5% by volume into every tank of gas for regular operation and don't remember too many problems.

In addition to all the comments above, getting the motor out on the water and running it at WOT for 10-20 minutes will help bring the engine temp up and burn off any remaining crud. Overall though, a good decarb job is about the best $10 you can spend on a motor, and ususually results in much lower/smoother idling, improved compression and fuel economy. Happy boating!

You got it to stall at the end of your seafoam cycle, correct.

If so, that's ideal. Now were you patient and let it do it's work, which is actually dissolving the "glue" that sticks the carbon in place.

It's very common for it to be hard starting while still seafoam wet, as the motor is essentially flooded.

Then a high speed run is ideal, ~5 minutes.
