??????? Would a 1979 model have a 5" spacer for a long shaft????? Just asking because the parts diagram shows the length is in the exhaust housing... Like in the photos I posted..The model # indicates long shaft with an ---L--- in it.----Or a standard 15" would have a 5" spacer to convert to long shaft.----With a picture of your actual motor it is identified in mere seconds.
?? Can you point out the "spacer" to me because I do not see it? Post number 3 clearly shows the short and long shaft motors without any spacer. The different shaft length is in the exhaust housing....The spacer would only be used if it was a regular 15" shaft converted to 20".----As clearly indicated in post #8 I believe !!!
I guess things that are simple to some can be confusing to others..The spacer would only be used if it was a regular 15" shaft converted to 20".----As clearly indicated in post #8 I believe !!!!
The word "kit" was never used until post 13.. But as always you win . And I am wrong in saying that the 1979 35hp left the factory without a 5" spacer on the long shaft motor. The model # indicates long shaft with an ---L--- in it.----Or a standard 15" would have a 5" spacer to convert to long shaft.----With a picture of your actual motor it is identified in mere seconds.
