How dificult and or practical is it to alter a Yamaha 4hp 4 stroke longshaft to shortshaft?

Probably easier to buy a short shaft motor.<br /><br />Basically you'd have to come up with a 15" midsection, and then either tear down the gearcase and install the 15" drive shaft, or find short shaft gearcase. You'd also have to put the power head on all this stuff..<br /><br />Scott..

yah, you're probaby right- I was wondering if it was just a matter of unbolting a section, but obviously not.

You might try a kicker motor bracket. I use a beefed up one to run in shallow water.
