Shorelandr VIN location?

I just bought a used fishing boat that has a Shorelandr roller trailer with it. The VUN decal stickers are totally white or missing altogether & the tongue stamp is only partially readable. I have no idea what year the trailer is, model or serial number. Can I find this info permanently stamped into the trailer anywhere? It seems stupid that they would only put it on a fadable sticker! Help? 20210710_173516.jpg

My experience with several older shorlandr trailers makes me think they were stupid enough to only put the vin on a sticker that gets rubbed off.

Ayuh,..... Of the many boat trailers I've dealt with, maybe one had stamped numbers, most were just stickers that were long gone, or unreadable,....

if you have the vin of the trailer(on the paperwork you should have received with the boat and trailer), you can contact shoreland'r for a replacment sticker.

there is no incentive for trailer companies to spend the time to permanently stamp the trailer. that adds cost and would actually be the first place rust starts. and the decals last 15 years which is how long the trailer is intended to last.

My 1976 Shorelandr trailer has the VIN stamped into the frame rail just behind the tongue on the driver's side. VIN's are almost always stamped and the labels usually just carry the load rating information as you see in your picture.

due to trailer theft I engrave mine vin in a frame member. doesn't hurt the galvanizing as I see no rust and use in salt water. my shore lander is also just a sticker

Shoreland'r hasnt stamped VIN's in the trailer since about 1982 or 1982. been a sticker ever since.
