I own a 1989 Baja w/ OMC 4.3 V6. I purchased it roughly two months ago, and noticed something strange. When I would shift to foward, it would start off slow, and right before plane, I would hear a loud "clunk" in the rear of the boat, kinda sounded like the outdrive fell off. It's only done this maybe 1/4 of the time. I've read Stuarts page about shift cable adj. and also seen the recall describing the problem that I mentioned. So I took the boat to my local shop and had the shift cable adjusted. Now, on the muffs, when I shift, the engagment is louder than before. Is this good or bad? I got the idea that it's louder when I shift b/c it was adjusted, and it engages like it should now. Maybe this is a dumb question, but I'm still learning. I'll be taking it out tommorrow to see if the clunk is gone. Otherwise, thanks for your time and answers.
