Took off my outdrive to replace impeller (888) and I cant remember which way the shift fork? faces? This is the part that when you shift forward to remove engages. I hope you know what I am taliking about I have looked on the web and can find no help for this Thanks Phil

Straight ahead is the position for forward gear. Apply counterclockwise pressure to the prop to hold it in forward and keep the shift fork straight ahead to mate together.

That's for when the outdrive is split apart.

you just have to make sure the shifter in the boat is in forward and that you keep the shift shaft straight ahead on the outdrive in order to reinstall the leg.
