I have a 1970 Glastron with a 120 hp Merc Cruiser inboard outboard. The shift/throttle lever needs to be replaced. My mechanic told me this style is no longer available and that I would have to replace it with a different type of controller (estimated cost for labor and materials was in the $500-$600 range).

Any ideas on how to find an "original" replacement would be appreciated.

My shift/throttle mechanism is a chrome lever with a black handle. At the pivot point, there is a black button that the operator pushes in to disengage the shift. This allows you to operate the throttle independently of the transmission.

Thanks for your help!
