ANYONE- PLEASE HELP!!!!

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 1972 GLASTRON WITH A 125 HP JOHNSON OUTBOARD. IT HAD NOT BEEN USED IN 8 YEARS BUT HAVE DONE SOME WORK SO THE ENGINE RUNS LIKE NEW. THE MAIN PROBLEM I AM HAVING IS THE SHIFT SWITCH IN THE HYDRO-ELECTRIC SWITCH BOX IS STICKING WHEN SHIFTING FROM FORWARD TO NEUTRAL AND THEREFORE EVEN WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SWITCH INTO REVERSE, PUSHES THE BOAT FORWARD AND WILL NOT SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL. REVERSE TO NEUTRAL IS NOT AN ISSUE. WHAT CAN I USE OR DO TO THE SWITCH IN ORDER TO FIX THIS PROBLEM? DOES IT NEED TO BE REPLACED? IT IS RIVETED SHUT AND CANNOT BE OPENED.
***HELP ME****

LOST BOATER '72
