Shift shaft seals

There was only one seal in the bushing and I don`t know if it was in right. the spring was up.
How do the seals go in? is the spring up or down in the lower seal? and up or down in the upper seal?
I say spring because I can see it better then the lip of the seal . old eyes

Hi Chuck
Yep they are small, they almost make me cross-eyed at times. The lips face up to stop water getting in.
The washer rubber sits above that seal

What I really like to know is, is the lip of the seal and the spring on the same side of the seal?
I don`t want to put it in wrong and have to do it over again.
