Yea, the seals should be in the bell shaped bushing.

look inside the larger bushing, seal should be already installed in it.

Re: shift shaft bushings & seal

we are looking,it aint there.
while mercruiser doesnt offer the seals individually mercury does.
look at a mid 80s v6 diagram.
you can buy just the shift shaft seals, you need two, and install them in the mercruiser shaft seal bore as long as the casting is still good.
never seen the bushing fail but seal failure is common, takes about 15 min to replace just the seals using the correct tools and two v6 mercury shaft seals.
take that kit back as its missing parts.

Looks like the vendors complete inventory of this GLM product are all missing the seals. They are having GLM ship me one direct.

Looks like I WILL finnish this project this weekend.....:D

Upper, like this:

Put some sealant on the (top) bushing before pressing it into the bell housing, it needs to be water tight. I used Permetex Aviation Sealant. Don't use silicone.

And here's the problem....

It says it replaces Merc part xxx, but it doesn't. The Merc genuine part HAS the seals already installed. Buy cheap part and you get..... cheap parts.
