This is my first boat I ever owned. My motor is a 1995 25hp Yamaha outboard motor. I was changing the impeller pump. I put the motor in reverse to loosen the barrel but would NOT budge. Eventually I was somehow able to turn the shift rod out of the top end of the motor. I did order a new shift rod with boot and barrel nut but now I can’t seem to get it back in any suggestions would be extremely helpful. Thank you I’m advanced. I will try an supply pics.
