2001, Johnson 150 V6

After disconnecting the shift interupter switch, the motor runs on the 3 port cylinders. ( the switch should seemingly allow the starboard cylinders to run, as well as the port cylinders, if dissconnected, according to the schematics )

When the shift interupter switch is connected, all cylinders are dead.

the starboard side is dead.

any ideas, we are getting there.

any help would be appreciated.

( thanx Clanton )

The diagram I have is 1998 and not very clear. The black, yellow wire has a blocking diode that may be shorted or open. The diagram I have shows a connection on black/yellow wire between the switch and diode, if you disconnect this wire should bypass switch. Sounds like a pack problem to me.

if this was a blocking diode problem, wouldn't it only limit the rpms to 2500??

we got no life on cylinders 2, 4, 6

the power pack can be down on one side only??

is ther a simple fuse that may have blown on the one side?

The diode you speak of is a different diode. If you do not have spark any cylinder, the problem could be pack, sensor, stator charge coil, or power coil which is part of the stator. IF you do not have spark on 3 cylinders on one side, could be same as above. No spark on port side, could also be shift switch.
