Reverse isn't engaging properly, so I did search and came to a couple of conclusions. This is a very common problem and I have it, just not sure where to go from here.
I have forward and reverse with a very positive engagement when shifting manually. I have forward and back to nuetral at the control. I can get it into reverse from the control but never really hear it engage. It will also go in if I turn the prop a bit. Some people say this is normal, but is it ok?
On the water last week on my maiden voyage it tried to go into reverse but wouldn't quite engage. I adjusted the barrel a little forward and got reverse to engage before attempting to load the boat.
So I know I have an adjustment, cable or control box issue or issues. How do I narrow it down? Where do I go from here? I am thinking cable replacement...?
Thanks in advance!
